More than 350 youth from El Alto and Santa Cruz participated in the “Who We Are” project that brought young people from different regions of Bolivia together in El Alto for an inter-cultural dialogue. The project is run by Tirso Puig who is employed by an Italian NGO. The young people exchanged stories about what it’s like growing up in the poor areas of El Alto and Santa Cruz. Numerous journalists, academics, cultural figures and others participated in the encounter. The project also inaugurated two local history projects in these two cities as well. In El Alto people will collect and publish the history of 16 different zones and follow topics such as transportation, cultural festivals, social struggles and more.
